Automatic Grouping

Combine words into readable caption phrases optimized for short-form content

1. Start group generation

Grouping Menu

  1. Set number of words per group (2-6 words)
  2. Click Start Grouping
  3. Wait ~30 seconds per batch (progress displayed), can take up to 2 min

The AI analyzes speech patterns and creates optimal groupings for engagement.

2. Edit Groups

Grouped Timeline

Once automatic grouping is complete, you can do the following actions:

  1. Select a word
  2. Click Move to Previous Group or Move to Next Group buttons
  1. Select a word
  2. Click Insert Group Left or Insert Group Right
  3. A new group will be added with the current word inside
  4. Click adjacent words to move them in

Click Groups On or Groups Off to toggle grouped timeline vs. individual words.

Grouping is required for "Grouped Words" and "Line-by-line" FCPXML export formats.
