Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Capti is operated by Lab 37 ("we", "us", "our"). We provide AI-assisted tools to generate multilingual captions for Final Cut Pro.

2. What We Collect

  • Account data: Provided via Clerk (e.g., email, name, and identifiers managed by Clerk).
  • Billing data: Processed by Stripe via Clerk. We do not store full payment card details.
  • Job data: For each captioning job, we store job metadata, audio files, transcription files (list of words with timestamps), grouping files (list of words within groups), SRT files, and FCPXML files.
  • User data: Presets, subscription information, and credit amounts.
  • Usage data: Anonymous metrics and analytics via Vercel Analytics and PostHog.

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide, operate, and improve Capti.
  • Process audio transcription using AssemblyAI and caption grouping using Groq.
  • Manage authentication and billing via Clerk and Stripe.
  • Communicate account and billing notifications via Clerk, and marketing emails via Loops.so (with your consent).
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse.
  • Collect anonymous usage metrics via Vercel Analytics and PostHog.

5. Data Retention

User data and job files are stored on Convex and will be automatically deleted after 2 years of account inactivity. You can manually delete individual jobs from the job page or delete your entire account from the user menu at any time. When you delete your account via the Clerk user menu, we immediately delete all associated data and files from Convex.

6. Your Rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your data.
  • Export your data where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. International Transfers

Data may be processed in regions where our providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

9. Children

Capti is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.
